  • Supported over 75 business expansions in Santa Clara
  • Helped create Santa Clara’s economic development website: www.movetosantaclara.com
  • Established Tourism Improvement District (TID)
  • Supported an Entertainment and Tourism Center in the North of Bayshore Area and Levi's Stadium
  • Championed the revitalization of Franklin Square and the weekly Famers' Market
  • Expansion and new parking at the Santa Clara Convention Center
  • Lead the fight for increasing the minimum wage for Santa Clara residents ahead of State changes

Education

  • Supported the Central Park Library development and opening
  • Established the Silicon Valley Power/City of Santa Clara Scholarship Award Program and Internship for Santa Clara youth
  • Co-founded the Santa Clara Unified School District’s Wellness, Nutrition and Physical Activity Committee
  • As Santa Clara's Library Ambassador, helped expand literacy programs across Santa Clara

Environment

  • Championed Santa Clara’s Green Power campaign expanding renewable energy programs and sustainability awareness
  • Upgrades for storm drains and waterways
  • Advocate for the San Tomas Aquino Creek Streamside Trail and cleaning up of our waterways
  • Protection for the Ulistac Natural Area and other parks, more than 75 acres of open space and park land
  • Voted for and advocating for Smart Growth developments throughout Santa Clara and the region

Ethics & Government Reform

  • Lead the fight for all Santa Clara County voters to return ballots by mail with postage fees covered
  • Chaired Santa Clara's Ethics Committee
  • Development of the "vote ethics" community outreach program to foster public trust and confidence in government
  • Expanding polling locations and training to improve voting accessibility in all neighborhoods
  • Reorganizing the Communication Department to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Supported the passage and expansion of Santa Clara’s Campaign Finance Ordinance

Housing

  • Fought for the new, first of its kind 'Agrihood' development
  • Promoted construction of 816 affordable homes
  • Welcomed Habitat for Humanity homes to Santa Clara
  • Backed the effort to contribute $500,000 to the Housing Trust Fund
  • Advocate for Santa Clara County's 2016 Measure A for affordable housing for seniors and first time home buyers, along with resources and funding for our neighbors without homes

Public Safety

  • Fought for a cooperative ambulance transport agreement with the Santa Clara Fire Department, American Medical Response, and Santa Clara County
  • Successfully led the way to keep Santa Clara City's Police, Fire and Emergency Dispatch compensation rates among the highest in Santa Clara County, allowing those who protect Santa Clara the opportunity to live within our community
  • Supported expansion of service locations with the Northside Police Substation at Rivermark
  • Supported the renovation of numerous Fire Stations and equipment upgrades

Recreation & Youth

  • Championed Santa Clara’s Youth Soccer Park project and the creation of three professional caliber fields and a sports complex to serve Santa Clara youth soccer team
  • Completion of the Santa Clara Skateboard Park, serving nearly 30,000 people each year
  • Funded a new Teen Center, to include a drink station, computer/homework center, lounge and conference rooms
  • Expanding green spaces and parks, including the War Memorial Park and revitalizing tennis courts across the city
  • Led the fight to open an expanded senior center, on-time and under budget
  • Established fee structure to direct development fees to improve parks across the city and expand green spaces

Technology

  • Supported the 2016 Santa Clara County Measure B to improve roads, public transportation and pedestrian pathways
  • Served as a member of the VTA Policy Advisory Committee, Caltrain Subcommittee, and the SCVTA Silicon Valley Rapid Transit Corridor fighting for people first solutions to our transportation needs
